Here’s a fun little video I got the opportunity to produce and direct for Snap-on Tools that won three national awards for excellence in digital media design and production – an AVA Digital Media Gold Award, a Hermes Creative Awards Gold, and first place in the Communicator Awards.
The goal was to orchestrate as many Snap-on trucks as necessary to form a giant 2018. We shot the entire configuration from 150 feet in the air with a drone. The post went up at midnight, New Year’s Eve. At 12:00, one truck would drive out of frame turning the 2018 into a 2019.
It took a lot of planning to orchestrate 18 people, 2 drones, 8 cameras and 30 Snap-on trucks into a giant 2018/2019. The result was one of their top performing social media videos of the year. You’d be surprised how much work it took to make sure each truck was perfectly aligned.
It was a lot of fun and was a great collaboration between everyone involved.
